Travel Nursing Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1980 - $2030
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York SICU nursing jobs)
• Unit: SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
• Start Date: September 16, 2025
• End Date: December 16, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:2, occasional 1:1 based on acuity
• Bed Count: 16-bed SICU
• Charting System: EPIC (required)
• Floating: Required to other units as needed
• Local Candidates: Must reside more than 75 miles from facility

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license in hand (required for NY healthcare jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent SICU or critical care nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Ability to float to other hospital units
• Willingness to work every other weekend
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply

SICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill surgical patients, including those with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, and post-cardiac arrest
• Manage advanced therapies: CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions; collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in targeted temperature management and care for patients with alcohol withdrawal and overdose
• Float to other critical care units as required
