Listing description
The Joy S. Emery Educational and Clinical Services Center offers a wide array of services including literacy tutoring, psychoeducational evaluations, speech-language evaluations and treatment, audiological evaluations, and related services. Additionally, the center offers support for children with autism spectrum disorders and their families.
The Early Intervention and Preschool Services team provides multidisciplinary, core, and supplemental evaluations along with treatment sessions to clients residing in surrounding counties and school districts.
The Early Intervention/Preschool Services Occupational Therapist position is responsible for performing home, community, or facility-located evaluations for early intervention and preschool clients, along with providing therapy services for early intervention clients.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES:
»Conduct 28-30 hours per week of direct client contact completing evaluations and/or treatment sessions with children birth to five years.
»Attend weekly and annual team meetings.
»Collaborate with Clinical managers to assist in graduate student clinician education, specifically multidisciplinary approaches.
»Perform one in-service workshop per semester to significant audiences on topics related to motor development, evaluation, or treatment.
»Attend up to three meetings (CPSE and/or Early Intervention) per week.
»Maintains case documentation & record keeping according to NY State guidelines.
»Adheres to federal and state regulations regarding preschool and early intervention services.
»Attend all state, county, and/or district trainings as required to maintain licensure in good standing.
»Serve on a Quality Assurance Committee three times annually.
General Requirements:
»Bachelor's degree required.
»NYS licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
»At least 3 years of practice, two of which must have involved evaluating and treating children birth to five years of age.
»Excellent interpersonal and organizational expertise.
»Intermediate level computer expertise; practice with Google workspace preferred.
»A valid driver's license and the capability to travel within the Capital Region.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, full year. Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
income Range: $46,818-$52,020/year
