SUMMARY
The Program Director of the Smart Living Center will lead and support the development, implementation, and growth of the ADAPT Smart Living Center program and promote greater independence for the people we support. This role will serve as both a program leader and ambassador for related initiatives, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic goals and expand community impact. The ideal candidate combines strong project management, communication, and relationship-building skills with a passion for technology and innovation in serving people with disabilities.
SMART LIVING CENTER PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The ADAPT Smart Living Center is a one-of-a-kind program located on ADAPT’s Bronx Stillwell Campus that will serve as a hub for showcasing, researching, and developing new technologies and solutions that promote independence, community integration, safety, and quality of life enhancements. The Smart Living Center includes an accessible kitchen, dining room, living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms with different technologies appropriate for each room. The program will be open for people supported of all ages, families, caregivers, staff from ADAPT and other provider agencies, care managers, and individuals from the community to learn about, test out, and get assessed and matched with technologies and solutions that meet their individuals needs and support their goals.
The ADAPT Smart Living Center will serve as a public resource and be open to populations beyond just those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including seniors, veterans, and people with physical disabilities. The program will also serve as a hub for partnerships with technology companies, university researchers, and possibly even investment firms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Program Director of the Smart Living Center will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the development of innovative services that promote independence and community inclusion at the Smart Living Center, including visits/tours of the Smart Living Center; Screenings and assessments to match people with technology; Trainings and classes for people supported and staff; Regular events; and other innovative services.
- Explore and build partnerships with technology companies to showcase new technologies and services at the Smart Living Center, engage in pilot/demonstration opportunities, etc.
- Explore and build partnerships with universities to develop and engage in research studies and other projects.
- Explore and build partnerships with investment firms that focus on the disability population.
- Work collaboratively with multiple departments to develop and grow the Smart Living Center, including Community & Business Development, Fund Development, Marketing, Government Relations, Finance, Programs, Information Technology, & Facilities.
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional project teams and monitor timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Support development of grant proposals.
- Build relationships with community partners, referral sources, families, provider organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Support data collection, reporting, and program evaluation efforts.
- Monitor program progress and recommend process improvements.
- Develop presentations, proposals, reports, and program materials to promote the program.
- Support the program by recruiting and supervising staff and people supported, as the program expands.
- Represent the organization in meetings, presentations, and outreach activities.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Relevant Master’s degree preferred (i.e. MPH, MBA, MHA, etc.).
- Strong project coordination or program management experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively promote programs and engage diverse stakeholders, including families, providers, technology companies, university researchers, investment firms, and community partners.
- Experience presenting to stakeholders or conducting community outreach preferred.
- Experience supporting program implementation or growth preferred.
- Passion for ADAPT's mission and demonstrates a commitment to the non-profit disability sector.
COMPENSATION : $80,000 - $85,000 Annually + Industry-Leading Benefits!
