Construction Carpenter
About Adirondack Customs
Adirondack Customs is the Adirondacks' premier builder of custom log homes and timber-frame structures. Our mission — Building a Better Life — drives everything we do: from the first design conversation to the final walkthrough. We don't just build houses; we build homes that stand for generations.
We're a tight-knit crew that operates on four core values:
- Quality — Do the job right. Every cut, every joint, every detail.
- Integrity — Do the right thing, even when no one's looking.
- Professionalism — Hold yourself to a higher standard — on the jobsite, in the office, and in every client interaction.
- Faith, Family & Team — We work hard, we stay flexible, and we take care of each other. Work-life balance isn't a buzzword here — it's how we operate.
The Role
We're looking for a skilled Construction Carpenter who takes pride in building something exceptional. You'll work alongside an experienced team on custom home builds — framing walls, setting timber, hanging doors, finishing trim — and you'll see the results of your craftsmanship every single day.
This isn't production housing. Every project is unique, and every detail matters. If you're the kind of person who measures twice, takes ownership of your work, and gets fired up about doing things the right way — you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
- Frame, build, and finish custom log homes and timber-frame structures from the ground up
- Perform skilled carpentry including framing, rough and finish carpentry, drywall, and structural installation
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Load, unload, and manage materials on active jobsites
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA standards — no shortcuts
- Collaborate daily with your crew to keep projects on schedule and at the highest quality
- Represent Adirondack Customs with professionalism on every jobsite
What We're Looking For
- Experience in construction or carpentry — residential home building strongly preferred
- Proficiency with hand and power tools in a construction setting
- Ability to read blueprints and plans (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Strong work ethic — you show up, you work hard, you finish what you start
- Attention to detail — quality workmanship is non-negotiable
- Team player — positive attitude, reliable, and willing to help wherever needed
- Physically capable — comfortable working on your feet, lifting materials, and working outdoors in all seasons
- Valid driver's license preferred
Why Adirondack Customs?
- Meaningful work — You'll build custom homes people dream about, not cookie-cutter subdivisions
- Skilled team — Work alongside experienced craftsmen who care about the trade
- Respect & recognition — Your dedication and skill are noticed and valued here
- Work-life balance — We believe in taking care of our people as well as our clients
- Growth opportunity — Advance your skills and your career with a company that's invested in doing things right
Ready to build something that matters?
Apply today and join a team that's raising the bar in Adirondack craftsmanship.
