Floor Manager

Theodora is seeking a passionate, hospitality-focused Floor Manager to join our leadership team.

Owned by Chef Tomer Blechman, Theodora is a wood-fired Mediterranean restaurant in Fort Greene centered around open-fire cooking, exceptional hospitality, and a thoughtfully curated food and beverage program. Since opening, Theodora has become known for its warm service, vibrant dining room, and ambitious culinary vision.

We are looking for a manager who loves restaurants and understands that hospitality starts on the floor. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to be actively involved in service, coach and support the team in real time, and help create memorable experiences for guests every night.

The ideal candidate will have management experience in a similar style of restaurant, though we are also open to training a passionate and career-minded server who is ready to take the next step into leadership.

What You'll Do

• Lead service on the floor and serve as a visible presence for guests and staff
• Support, coach, and develop front-of-house team members
• Ensure service standards are maintained throughout each shift
• Assist with guest relations, problem solving, and service recovery
• Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless execution
• Help foster a positive, professional, and hospitality-driven culture
• Support training and onboarding initiatives
• Assist with administrative responsibilities as needed

While there will be opportunities to participate in administrative projects, this is primarily an evening service position focused on leading the dining room and supporting the guest experience.

Food & Beverage

The role includes ongoing education in our food, wine, and cocktail programs. Candidates should be excited to learn and sell wine from our curated natural wine list and support a beverage program developed in close collaboration with the kitchen.

Growth & Development

The Floor Manager will report directly to Theodora's General Manager and work closely with the company's Director of Operations.

Qualifications

• Management experience preferred
• Senior-serving experience in a high-quality restaurant environment considered
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Passion for hospitality, food, wine, and restaurants
• Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
• Desire to learn, grow, and take ownership

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (7+ hours)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, walk, climb stairs, and move throughout the restaurant during service
