Schedule: 3rd Shift

Primary Purpose: The Shower Technician / Laundry Assistant plays an important role in supporting resident dignity, comfort, and cleanliness. This position assists residents with scheduled showers in a safe, respectful manner and helps maintain clean linens, clothing, and laundry areas. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and takes pride in caring for seniors.

Key Responsibilities

Shower Assistance

1. Assist residents with showers according to the community schedule and individual care plans
2. Ensure resident safety at all times by following proper transfer and bathing techniques
3. Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and comfort during all care activities
4. Clean and sanitize shower rooms and equipment after each use
5. Communicate any resident concerns or changes to the care team

Laundry Duties

1. Wash, dry, fold, and deliver resident clothing and linens
2. Sort laundry properly and follow infection control and safety procedures
3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room
4. Report missing, damaged, or heavily soiled items as needed
5. Assist with linen inventory and restocking

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED preferred
2. Experience in senior care, housekeeping, or laundry services is a plus but not required
3. Ability to follow instructions and established routines
4. Compassionate attitude with a strong sense of responsibility
5. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods
6. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Skills & Competencies

2. Attention to detail and cleanliness
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
4. Basic understanding of safety and infection control practices

Physical and Sensory Requirements

1. Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
2. Meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of the organization, which may include a medical and physical examination.
3. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning and stretching.Finger and hand dexterity required.Visual and hearing acuity essential. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions necessary.Ability to perform basic mathematical computations required.

<1 hour per 8 hour work shift. Alternates as needed to standing or walking.

6-8 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternates to sitting on an occasional basis and to standing on a frequent basis.

This position is classified as HEAVY, requiring exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift/move objects. Functional requirements include constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning, and stretching. Finger and hand dexterity is required. Visual and hearing acuity is essential. The ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions is necessary, and the ability to perform basic mathematical computations is required.
