Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Job Duration: Contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Hours: 35 per week
Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to work in an acute care hospital environment. The coder will be responsible for accurate assignment of ICD-10 codes and ensuring compliance with federal, payer, and hospital coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient and ED medical coding in an acute care setting
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and procedure codes
- Use encoder systems (3M/HDS) for coding support
- Ensure compliance with payer and federal billing guidelines
- Research and resolve coding-related issues
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Maintain accuracy and productivity standards
- Work with electronic medical record systems and coding software
- Support coder training and quality initiatives when needed
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum)
- Minimum 3 years coding experience in inpatient setting
- Strong experience with ICD-10 coding
- CCS certification (required)
- Experience with 3M/HDS encoder system
- Inpatient + Emergency Department coding experience required
- Strong understanding of coding and billing guidelines
