The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. The Division of Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) works to ensure families and children have the critical supports they need to thrive and exercise self-determination. CCOPs has multiple teams that support families applying for care and that provide technical assistance for child care providers, these teams process hundreds of applications, and inquiries each week.

The Provider Inquiry Unit (PIU) unit researches and investigates provider payment/enrollment issues that could not be resolved by CFWB Call Center agents at the time of their call. PIU staff work very closely with the ACS Finance/Voucher Payment Unit (VPU) as well as with YMS Management Associates Inc., the ACS contracted payment agent for subsidized voucher providers. PIU is also responsible for provider closures in ACCIS as a result of action by OCFS.
