Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Unit: 26-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit
• Position Type: Travel RN / Locum Tenens
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/7/2025 – End: 1/6/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2080 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification (required)
• Proficient with Epic electronic medical records
• Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Peripheral IV therapy and phlebotomy experience
• Experience with respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management)
• Strong knowledge of isolation precautions and infection control
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• Travel nurses must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients post-PCI, pacemaker, AICD, post-MI, and those receiving cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to emergencies, and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams
• Manage peripheral IV lines and perform phlebotomy procedures
• Administer respiratory therapies and manage non-invasive airway support
• Implement isolation precautions and maintain infection control standards
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units as required
