Staffing Coordinator / Scheduler
- Develop, maintain, and adjust nursing staff schedules (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) to meet facility and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor daily staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Respond to last-minute call-offs and find coverage to prevent gaps in care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in scheduling software (e.g., Kronos, Smartlinx, OnShift, etc.).
- Communicate schedule changes to staff and management in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate with HR and nursing leadership to onboard new hires into scheduling rotation.
- Ensure compliance with union contracts (if applicable), labor laws, and internal policies.
- Prepare staffing reports and audits as required by facility leadership or regulatory bodies.
- Participate in daily staffing meetings and collaborate with department heads.
- Provide support and conflict resolution related to scheduling concerns.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare scheduling, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of state staffing regulations and CNA/RN/LPN licensing requirements is a plus.
- Experience preferred in a long-term care setting.
- Office environment within a nursing home or healthcare facility.
- May require availability outside of normal working hours to address urgent scheduling issues.
- Occasional weekend or holiday shifts may be required.
