Postpartum Care Specialist / Newborn Care Specialist Long Beach, NY

A warm and loving family in Long Beach, NY (11561) is seeking a nurturing and experienced Newborn Care Specialist to provide overnight support as they welcome their child on April 7th, 2026 .

Schedule: 12 hours per night (7pm -7am), 4 nights a week for 4 weeks - beginning two days after birth

Compensation: $40/hr +

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Providing expert newborn care including feeding support, soothing, diapering, and safe sleep practices
• Supporting the establishment of healthy sleep routines and age-appropriate schedules
• Offering hands-on education to parents to build confidence and caregiving skills
• Providing guidance on newborn behavior, cues, and development
• Supporting maternal recovery and emotional well-being during the postpartum period
• Maintaining a calm, organized newborn environment
• Collaborating closely with both parents to ensure continuity of care and routine

The ideal candidate has a calming presence and will provide support with essential aspects of newborn care(feeding, bathing, diapering, and baby laundry), helping ensure rest and recovery for parents. Someone with deep knowledge on safe sleep practices and commitment to maintaining a safe sleep environment.

Requirements:

• Certified Newborn Care Specialist and/or trained Postpartum Doula
• Strong experience supporting newborns and families in the early postpartum period
• Ability to provide both day and night support as scheduled

Must be vaccinated (TDAP, TB, Measles)
