GRADE: 13 RANGE: $51,000-$68,000 per/yr

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application Support Specialist will assist the Application Support Officer with core systems and bank application software management and user support. These duties will include testing, documenting, change control, and assisting in scheduled batch routines. These duties will be performed on all core platforms (production, test and training systems). The specialist will also assist in Helpdesk ticket management on the Bank's IT ticketing system, as well as with vendor ticketing systems.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with various BOGC applications highly desired. Prior banking experience required.
  • Intermediate skills with all Microsoft Office products are required.
  • Polite and conscientious communication skills when dealing with computer users on the telephone and in person are required.
  • One or more year's prior experience with application support preferred.
  • An Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems/Computer Science or Microsoft certification in Microsoft Desktop Technician (or equivalent) is desired, but not required.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the management of all critical bank applications.
  • Assist with routine monthly/quarterly requirements, such as credit reporting, FHLB collateral reporting, OFAC scans and reporting, etc.
  • Assist with the implements and manage database administration and database maintenance for all application database systems.
  • Provide help desk assistance and documentation of help requests through the Bank's help request ticketing system.
  • Interview users to collect information about problems and lead users through diagnostic procedures to determine source of problem.
  • Visit the branches to conduct site inspections and offer on-site assistance to end users.
  • Assist management in planning future application upgrades and/or deployment.
  • Transfer direct requests for immediate assistance to the appropriate IS/IT resource, or appropriate banking resource.
  • Test software and hardware in a lab environment to evaluate ease of use and to identify potential support issues with common users.
  • Assist the Application Support Officer with daily and nightly batch routines.
  • Assist the Application Support Officer with testing, investigating, and documenting issues with all major applications.
  • Provide branch training as necessary and coordinate training efforts with Branch Administration.
  • Assist with the On-Call Saturday departmental rotation which requires remote access.
  • Assist management with preparation for bank audits by the internal and external auditors, and examinations by the NYS Banking Department, the OCC and the FDIC.
  • Attend training as required by the Application Support Officer and the Chief Information Officer.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Bank by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

BANK SECRECY ACT (BSA)

Before assuming any duties, each employee will be trained in the proper filing and logging procedures for large currency transactions and the sale of monetary instruments. Each employee will immediately report suspicious currency transactions or activity to their immediate supervisor or the BSA Officer.

All employees will become familiar with how their customers handle their accounts and will report any transactions that are not within the normal activities of the customer.

The employee will be trained in compliance with the BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT and associated laws and regulations under the Bank's Compliance Program as it pertains to his or her job functions. Employees are expected to meet all compliance requirements as stated within the Bank's BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC Program. Failure to meet these compliance standards may adversely affect performance appraisals and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Employee's compliance violations may result in termination, individual fines, and possible imprisonment.
