Hospitalist (Day) Needed | St. Mary’s Healthcare | Amsterdam, NY

Overview:
St. Mary’s Healthcare is actively seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our expanding Hospitalist team in Amsterdam, NY. Position Highlights:
- Full-time, hospital-employed position
- Daytime-only schedule with no night coverage required
- Average daily census in the high 30s to low 40s across the team
- 8-bed ICU managed in collaboration with intensivists and consultants
- Fully integrated inpatient/outpatient EMR: Meditech Expanse
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with hospital staff, specialists, and consultants to ensure coordinated and high-quality care
- Manage care transitions and handoffs to ensure continuity of treatment
- Supervise and support Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) as part of a team-based model
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence
- Document all patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the EMR
Qualifications:
Required Credentials - Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York
Preferred Experience - Prior inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred but not required
Education - MD or DO from an accredited medical school; completion of an accredited residency program
Skills - Strong clinical judgment, efficient decision-making, and effective communication in a team-based, inpatient setting
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary Range - $315,000 – $342,000 (commensurate with experience).
