Our goal is to create one of the nation’s great banks, and we have the necessary ingredients: a strong balance sheet, resilient businesses, a massive customer franchise, strong analytical capabilities, and great people. We nurture a work environment where people with a variety of thoughts, ideas and backgrounds, guided by our shared values, come together to make Capital One a great company – and a great place to work.

Our teams include Communications, Community Impact and Investment (CI&I), Community Finance, CRA Strategy and Program Management, the Government and Political Affairs Group, Regulatory Relations, and Strategy and Engagement. Through our teams, we have unparalleled access to a diverse group of motivated changemakers similarly focused on the ingredients for a more perfect future.

Our approach involves focusing on innovation and opportunity related to long term well being for our associates, customers, and communities. On the intersection between business and social impact. On disruption and dreaming of a better way. This is the language of changing things for the better. The Community Impact and Investment (CI&I) team creates impactful community outcomes and positions Capital One as a strategically bold, innovative, and mission driven financial institution through:

  • Fueling strategic community investments (e.g. grants, skills, loans)

  • Delivering insights, advice and resources that inform Capital One’s products and services

  • Activating the capabilities of “impact forward” associates

The Community Impact and Investment team supports Capital One through making impact investment decisions, leading enterprise volunteerism, conducting market research, fostering community relationships, grant making, originating Community Development Financial/Institution (CDFI) loans and partnering with and advising LOBs.

The Opportunity and Role:

This role plays a critical part in translating community insights into market strategies and philanthropic investments that align with Capital One’s business priorities and community impact goals.

We’re seeking a Senior Manager, who is a leader of people, with a background in strategic impact investing to lead our Northeast team (New York City, New Jersey, Long Island, Connecticut, Delaware and Massachusetts). This team is charged with deeply understanding a broad array of challenges and opportunities in the Northeast geographies and bringing that market intelligence to bear to ensure we are investing in high impact programs with demonstrable outcomes and with partners to advance socioeconomic mobility in the community while maximizing impact for Capital One’s reputation and business agenda.

You’ll lead the Northeast Market President Network strategy and execution by serving as a trusted advisor to executives and a problem solver, supporting the sharing of business-critical insights, and connecting associates to Capital One’s mission.

  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Lines of Business for integrated storytelling to stakeholders

  • Attend conferences and events, build relationships with community stakeholders, public officials, and their staffs

  • You will develop and drive investment strategies across your team and multiple geographies that increasingly align business strategy and social impact while launching holistic and effective approaches to community investment.

  • You will develop actionable and strategic project plans around stakeholder insights that define priorities for your team and influence stakeholders to your vision

  • You’ll lead a small team of associates through creating and managing critical relationships with those players to understand how Capital One shows up in our communities relative to how we are supporting community needs and moving the needle on socioeconomic mobility

  • You will work collaboratively with your team and colleagues across the entire enterprise to monitor and evaluate risks

  • You will provide thoughtful leadership to identify and engage key community leaders

  • You’ll lead the Northeast and Delaware Market President Networks strategy by being a conduit between executives and community, supporting the sharing of business critical updates and connecting associates to Capital One’s mission

An ideal candidate is:

  • A People Leader: You display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates, as well as associates, beyond your team through your leadership style.

  • Intellectually Curious: You are comfortable with ambiguity, hungry to learn, and regularly use AI to identify and implement efficiencies.
