Hospital Housekeeper
Brook Farm Veterinary Center is an animal hospital located in Patterson, New York. Applicants will be responsible for the following: Mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry. Keep entire hospital, both inside and outside, clean throughout the day. Stock housekeeping supplies as needed.
Cleaning of restrooms on a daily basis. Cleaning up animal urine and feces and blood. Attention to detail is required, and any allergies to animals must be controlled through medications, as this is a high traffic animal hospital. This position does not routinely handle animals but may be asked to assist with animal care periodically. Experience working with cleaning preferred.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for all basic cleaning in and around facility.
- Cleans floors and rooms. including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
- Cleans and disinfects patient runs and cages.
- Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
- Vacuums, empties trash, and replaces liners.
- Disinfects all common areas.
- Sets up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Monitors and maintains sanitation and organization of assigned areas.
- Transports dirty linens and handles laundry.
- Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
