Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS. The role involves systems analysis, application development, and providing support for complex projects and daily operations. The ideal candidate will also assist with issue resolution, recommend solutions, and ensure timely project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems analysis, design, and development for basic to complex requirements.
• Act as an individual contributor on complex projects and assist clients with daily issues.
• Develop feasible solutions, make recommendations, and coordinate development tasks.
• Participate in systems and integrated testing; prepare test data and execute detailed test plans.
• Debug, update, and maintain systems documentation.
• Create technical and functional specifications, charts, tables, and flow diagrams.
• Provide consultation services on supported applications, operational procedures, and cost analysis.
• Recommend new technologies, processes, or policies to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and occasionally vendors.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and risk controls.

Required Qualifications

• Associate s degree with 4+ years of systems analysis/application development experience, or 6+ years of combined education and work experience including 4+ years in mainframe development.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS.
• Experience with File Aid, Panvalet, CA7, and Xpediter.
• Proficiency with personal computers and project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and lateral thinking skills.
• Experience coordinating between applications and business units.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of application frameworks and interfacing/integrated applications.
• Subject matter expertise in supported applications and business areas.
