Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and community-minded Barista to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences. In addition to preparing beverages and serving customers, our baristas help support community events, programming, and the welcoming atmosphere that makes Café Colmado a special place.

Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, coffee, tea, and other café beverages according to Café Colmado standards
• Deliver friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable customer service
• Take orders accurately and process payments through the POS system
• Engage with guests and help foster a warm, inclusive environment
• Assist with food preparation, plating, and service as needed
• Support community events, workshops, pop-ups, and other café programming
• Help set up, break down, and maintain event spaces when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked café environment
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines
• Complete opening and closing duties
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

• Previous barista, café, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Passion for hospitality, community building, and customer service
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
• Availability to work mornings, weekends, and occasional evenings for special events
