Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) or Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 x 12-hour shifts

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills in maternal-child nursing, excellent critical thinking abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs throughout labor and delivery.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and pain management interventions as prescribed.
• Assist with labor induction procedures and support patients during the childbirth process.
• Prepare and maintain delivery rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist physicians, obstetricians, and midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns, including monitoring recovery and educating families.
• Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and complications.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility standards.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
• Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child nursing experience .
• Minimum 2 years of IV Insertion and Phlebotomy experience .
• Minimum 2 years of Conscious Sedation experience .
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification .
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Labor & Delivery clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure and emergency situations.
• Strong teamwork and patient-centered care approach.
