Senior Product Manager

Pumpkin is looking for a passionate and innovative Senior Product Manager to lead the development and execution of our core platform capabilities. This is a high-impact opportunity to drive the evolution of internal claims processing systems, CX processing systems, insurance premium payments, claims reimbursements, and other critical insurance process platforms. You will be responsible for delivering measurable outcomes against key results, ensuring our platforms are efficient, scalable, and aligned with our mission to provide unparalleled care for pets and their owners. Collaborating closely with Design, Engineering, and Operations teams, your work will shape the foundation of Pumpkin’s infrastructure and customer experience.
This will be a hybrid position, with a minimum requirement of 2 days a week in the New York City office.
What You'll Do
- Drive the strategy, development, and execution of core platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with company objectives and operational needs.
- Optimize internal claims processes, CX systems, and insurance operational workflows to enhance scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, and Operations, to deliver seamless and impactful solutions.
- Leverage data insights, user feedback, and industry best practices to iterate and improve platform functionality and performance.
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize features, manage roadmaps, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance platform reliability, scalability, and user experience.
- Measure and analyze key performance metrics, regularly reporting on progress against key results and making data-informed recommendations.
What You'll Bring
- 6+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in technology-forward organizations with a focus on platform development.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling internal systems such as claims processing, payment systems, or operational platforms.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate high-level business objectives into actionable product roadmaps.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to leverage metrics, KPIs, and user insights to inform decisions.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a proven track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Passion for creating robust, scalable systems that deliver measurable business and customer value.
Bonus Points
- Experience in the insurance industry or working with insurance operational platforms is a highly beneficial
- Familiarity with claims processing, payment processing, or customer service systems.
- Background in building scalable platforms with a focus on automation and efficiency
The compensation for this position ranges from $109,245-$136,556 (annually). Compensation may vary outside the listed range, based on a number of factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, performance, skills and experience. The compensation range listed is just one component of Pumpkin’s total compensation package for employees. Total compensation packages, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short or long-term incentives. If hired, employees will be in an ‘at-will position’ and Pumpkin reserves the right to modify compensation (as well as any other discretionary payment or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
