We recently launched a premium, personalized matchmaking service across our clubs – with thousands on our waitlist. We’re looking for a Director of Matchmaking to scale the magic.
The Role
The Director of Matchmaking will be responsible for overseeing, growing, and enhancing the end-to-end matchmaking service. This includes developing and executing strategy to ensure exceptional client experience, leading and mentoring a team of matchmakers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align our matchmaking services with company goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of relationship dynamics, a passion for helping people connect, and a track record of success in entrepreneurial 0-1 growth and operational leadership. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
Lead, develop, and oversee execution of a strategic vision and growth strategy of our matchmaking service, setting clear KPIs to measure success.
Lead and mentor a team of matchmakers, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support needed to succeed.
Drive innovation in matchmaking methodologies and processes to continually enhance product success and client satisfaction.
Identify, connect, and execute potential partnerships, collaborations, and expansion opportunities that align with and support matchmaking’s strategic objectives.
Operational Excellence:
Scale our matchmaking processes and systems to meet high demand and serve multiple niche communities.
Oversee and optimize the matchmaking workflow, including client intake, match selection, feedback collection, and follow-up.
Continuously evaluate and optimize matchmaking tools, technology, and workflows.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and ethical standards.
Client Experience:
Ensure that clients receive a personalized, high-touch experience from onboarding through to successful matchmaking.
Develop and maintain quality standards for matchmaking services, ensuring that matches meet the highest levels of compatibility.
Handle escalations and complex matchmaking cases with discretion and expertise.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the product, marketing, and operations teams to integrate feedback and improve matchmaking services.
Serve as the primary point of contact for matchmaking-related initiatives, both internally and externally.
Report on key performance metrics and provide insights to senior management.
Qualifications:
0-1 scaling experience, particularly in product or service development.
Proven experience in a leadership role within a matchmaking, dating, or related industry.
Deep understanding of relationship psychology and matchmaking principles.
Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and strategic mindset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and empathy.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
