Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for adult observation patients to determine need for admission vs. safe discharge.
- Monitor vital signs and telemetry, assess for changes in condition, and respond per protocol.
- Administer medications and treatments, document responses, and communicate findings to the care team.
- Collaborate with providers, case management, and ancillary staff to facilitate timely decision-making for admissions or safe discharges.
- Document accurately in the medical record; participate in shift handoffs and patient rounds.
- Manage a fast-paced workflow with attention to patient safety, patient education, and adherence to evidence-based practice.

Requirements
- Current NY Registered Nurse license (NY license only)
- Minimum of two (2) years Med/Surg experience
- Telemetry experience or demonstrated competency
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced Observation Unit
