Temporary Program Manager, 1115 Medicaid Waiver Initiative
Client: Well known Non Profit
Location: New York, NY (hybrid, 6 days onsite per month, plus regular travel across NYC boroughs)
Duration: Contract until May 2026 with potential to extend
Payrate: $27/hr -$30/hr
Our client, a leading nonprofit dedicated to advancing health equity and community impact, is seeking a skilled professional to support its Medicaid 1115 Waiver capacity-building initiative. In this role, you will provide strategic support, training, and technical assistance to community-based organizations (CBOs) as they enhance their ability to screen Medicaid recipients and link them to essential services. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Medicaid 1115 initiatives, CBO engagement, and capacity-building or technical assistance work.
Responsibilities
• Conduct organizational assessments and develop tailored capacity-building plans for CBO partners
• Deliver trainings, one-on-one coaching, tools, and culturally responsive instructional resources
• Provide technical assistance for screening, navigation, and other health-related program activities
• Support data collection, reporting, and compliance with Medicaid 1115 program requirements
• Assist CBOs with accessing capacity-building funds for staffing, equipment, and technology
• Facilitate collaboration, peer learning, and knowledge-sharing across partner organizations
• Track progress, performance metrics, and maintain accurate documentation
• Prepare for stakeholder meetings and share relevant insights from CBO engagement
• Contribute to special projects and ongoing work related to the 1115 Waiver
Qualifications
• Experience or strong working knowledge of Medicaid 1115 Waiver programs
• Background in capacity building, technical assistance, consulting, or CBO support
• Strong facilitation, training, and presentation skills
• Highly organized, with the ability to maintain trackers and performance documentation
• Effective communicator, comfortable navigating complex issues and questions
• Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn new systems and tools
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders
• Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced nonprofit environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or related field, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience (including 1 year in community-based health initiatives)
