Estimator

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join a growing team and support both commercial and residential ground-up construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the full estimating lifecycle, from reviewing drawings and specifications through bid submission and turnover to operations.

This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and helping position the company to win profitable work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC estimates for commercial and residential ground-up construction projects
• Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC systems, equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and related components
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Develop accurate labor, material, and equipment cost estimates
• Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within required deadlines
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations, and Leadership during bid reviews and project turnover
• Maintain organized estimating files, bid logs, and historical pricing data
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and internal estimating meetings as needed
• Analyze project risks, scope gaps, and potential cost exposures
• Stay current on market pricing, industry trends, and construction costs

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC estimating experience within commercial and/or residential construction
• Experience estimating ground-up construction projects required
• Strong understanding of the complete estimating cycle, from takeoff through bid submission and project handoff
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and mechanical plans
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, equipment, and mechanical codes
• Proficiency with estimating software and construction technology platforms
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Experience working with General Contractors, developers, and subcontractors preferred
