Job Summary
Bring your leadership, creativity, and passion for hospitality to one of the most dynamic campus dining environments in the country. At NYU, Café 181 and Crave are vibrant, high-energy dining destinations serving a diverse and discerning student population. We’re seeking a Director of Dining Services who thrives in a fast-paced setting, values innovation, and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
As Director, you will serve as the driving force behind daily operations—leading a talented team, elevating culinary programs, and building strong client partnerships. This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to shape the dining experience at a premier urban campus.
Key Responsibilities
Lead & Inspire: Manage, develop, and motivate a diverse team of associates, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and growth
Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day dining operations for Café 181 and Crave, ensuring seamless service and an elevated guest experience
Client Partnership: Build and maintain strong relationships with NYU stakeholders, becoming a trusted and strategic partner on campus
Culinary Collaboration: Partner with the Executive Chef and leadership team to design innovative menus and deliver high-quality, on-trend dining options
Financial Leadership: Own the account’s financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
Program Innovation: Execute and launch new culinary concepts and dining initiatives that reflect evolving student preferences and industry trends
Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with campus departments and support teams to enhance the overall dining experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field (preferred)
3–5+ years of progressive foodservice leadership experience, ideally in high-volume environments
Proven success managing high-volume production and catering operations
Strong financial acumen, including budget management and P&L oversight
A passion for innovation, team development, and delivering best-in-class service
