About the Team

The Managed Infrastructure team is dedicated to empowering developers by centralizing and automating the entire infrastructure lifecycle. Our mission is to evolve the cloud experience beyond federated self-service into a fully managed, intent-driven platform. This strategic shift eliminates operational toil, ensuring secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise operations.

As the Senior Product Manager, Platform Interface & Standards , you will serve as the primary architect for the "handshake" between our cloud infrastructure and the broader enterprise ecosystem. You will sit at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, security, and developer productivity. You are responsible for productizing the interfaces—including APIs, schemas, and software contracts—that allow developers to interact with the Managed Infrastructure Layer transparently.

In this role, you’ll learn the essentials of being a product manager, and we’ll invest in you to grow in four key areas:
  • Human Centered

    • You’ll collaborate with tech teams to build comprehensive acceptance criteria, identifying and elevating any need for additional research to define future feature design

    • You'll breakdown business epics into features and further into user stories, driving your team towards lowest effort or Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for a valid feature test

  • Business Focused

    • Demonstrate a growth mindset - effectively use hypothesis-driven assessment of data to ensure your product or feature delivers on real business needs

    • Support in prioritizing feature development roadmaps, ensuring all necessary processes and procedures are followed to manage risk

    • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

    • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

  • Customer’s Spokesperson

    • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that improve customer experience and drive Product growth by aligning it to Capital One’s mission.

    • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact

  • Technology Driven

    • Work autonomously in an agile environment, to conduct research and develop features that utilize new and evolving technology

    • Collaborate with designers, technologists, data scientists and subject-matter experts to build cutting edge solutions to help customers

    • Deliver well-managed product platforms for customers by seeking to understand technology trends and architecture strategy

  • Transformational Teamwork

    • By actively participating in horizontal forums, you’ll harness a network of trusted relationships among tech teams, designers, key internal stakeholders and partner teams

    • You’ll articulate a succinct product roadmap to deliver business value and share with with stakeholders, elevating your team’s results and becoming a product matter expert

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in Product Management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure well architected frameworks

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - certification or extensive experience in AWS

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

New York, NY: $219,000 - $249,900 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

Plano, TX: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
