CVICU Nurse Job Details

- Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
- Start Date: October 7, 2025
- End Date: January 6, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1870 - $1920
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Unit Details: 16-bed CVICU, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:2 (occasional 1:1 based on acuity)
- Floating: Required
- Charting System: Epic (Epic charting experience required)
- Active New York Registered Nurse license (required to submit)
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience (2 years preferred)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting experience (required)
- Must reside more than 75 miles from Rochester, NY
- First-time travel nurses welcome!
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients (sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest)
- Manage advanced therapies and equipment: CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella
- Assist with procedures: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, chest tube insertion/removal, wound care
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, emergency medications
- Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs
- Care for ventilated patients; manage BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula
- Maintain strict infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Float to other hospital units as needed
