CVICU Nurse Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Start Date: October 7, 2025
• End Date: January 6, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1870 - $1920
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Details: 16-bed CVICU, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:2 (occasional 1:1 based on acuity)
• Floating: Required
• Charting System: Epic (Epic charting experience required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license (required to submit)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience (required)
• Must reside more than 75 miles from Rochester, NY
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients (sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest)
• Manage advanced therapies and equipment: CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella
• Assist with procedures: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, chest tube insertion/removal, wound care
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, emergency medications
• Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs
• Care for ventilated patients; manage BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula
• Maintain strict infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Float to other hospital units as needed
