Dravida, a new restaurant from Chef Aarthi Sampath, is opening soon in the East Village.

Dravida is a service-led, chef-driven restaurant focused on the Indian diaspora. The dining room is built around guided hospitality, strong pacing, and clear communication between the door, floor, kitchen, and management team.

We’re looking for experienced hosts who are warm, organized, composed, and comfortable managing the flow of a busy restaurant. This is a role for someone who understands that the host stand sets the tone for service and directly affects the guest experience, seating pace, table turns, and overall rhythm of the dining room.

Hosts are expected to manage reservations, greet and communicate with guests clearly, support smooth seating and pacing, coordinate closely with servers and management, and maintain a calm, polished presence throughout service.

Requirements :

• 1–2+ years NYC host experience, preferably in high-volume, upscale, or chef-driven restaurants

• Strong reservation management and guest communication skills

• Ability to manage the door, wait times, seating flow, and guest expectations with confidence

• Experience with Resy and Toast

• Strong floor awareness, timing, and communication with service teams

• Warm, polished, and composed guest presence

• Reliable, punctual, and team-first approach

• Must participate in the FOH tip pool

• Dinner availability required, including weekends

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience opening a new restaurant

• Experience with chef-driven or guided dining concepts

• Interest in South Asian hospitality, flavors, and regional cuisine

• Ability to support coat check, phones, guest notes, confirmations, and private event inquiries as needed

Compensation :

$20/hr + tips from minor participation in the FOH tip pool
