Finance Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A leading international law firm is seeking a Finance Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its Finance Practice Group in New York. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border financing transactions alongside a collaborative team of attorneys and industry professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience representing banks, private credit funds, and institutional lenders in complex secured lending matters.

Responsibilities

• Represent banks, private credit funds, and other institutional lenders in a variety of financing transactions.
• Structure, draft, negotiate, and manage documentation for secured lending transactions.
• Handle senior secured, mezzanine, subordinated debt, and acquisition finance matters.
• Assist with commercial lending, leveraged finance, loan workouts, and restructuring transactions.
• Manage transaction processes from structuring through closing.
• Collaborate with corporate, tax, intellectual property, regulatory, and other specialist teams.
• Conduct legal analysis and provide practical, business-focused solutions to clients.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• 3+ years of law firm experience in finance transactions.
• Experience representing banks, private credit funds, and institutional lenders.
• Strong background in leveraged lending, commercial lending, and/or private credit finance.
• Experience with domestic and cross-border financing transactions.
• Ability to independently manage key components of financing transactions.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.
• Experience with asset-backed finance, warehouse financing, or royalties financing is a plus.
