PURCHASING AND PLANNING AGENT
The Purchasing and Planning Agent is responsible for administering and coordinating purchasing materials, goods, and services. Their primary responsibilities are to plan, forecast, implement, and procure products and services.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Evaluating expected demand to create forecasts accordingly.
- Manage the flow of raw material inventory and create purchase orders, and follow up to provide accurate ship dates, costs, freight, and/or expedite orders as needed.
- Manage vendor relationships, including periodic evaluation of vendor performance, invoice resolution, quality issues, and developing new vendor relationships and new sources of supply
- Manage and mitigate any supply chain interruptions, including supplier on-time delivery, inbound logistics coordination, and product samples
- Liaise sales and customer care departments regarding product inquiries, documentation, certificate of conformance, drawings, samples, and lead times.
- Obtain vendor quotes in a timely manner for non-stock and large volume stock items, focusing on multiple quote solicitations, MOQs, volume brackets, lead times, and art deco, to meet the overall quote request needs.
- Responsible for inbound freight coordination for domestic, managing drop shipments requirements, and meeting customer requests for residential and commercial deliveries. Coordination is expected with vendor shipping, brokers, and logistics.
- Maintain new stock number requests and inventory levels to prevent out-of-stock or excess inventory situations based on supply and demand.
- Collaborate with operations, sales, customer service, IT, finance, and shipping to ensure supply needs are met, clarification is provided, and a necessary supply is available for customer orders.
- Adhere to the established SKS policies and procedures and seek ways to improve efficiencies in the Purchasing department.
- Meet established KPIs for performance across a number of quantitative metrics.
Qualifications:
- B.S./B.A. or equivalent degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain, Business or Operations
- 3+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or related field
- Proficient in creating Excel spreadsheets to filter, sort and analyze large data sets
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and self-direct
- Ability to identify and capture cost savings opportunities
- Eye for process improvement
- Knowledge of supply chain management or procurement tools and best practices
- Experience working as part of a team as well as working cross-functionally
- Well organized, detail-oriented and problem solver
- Negotiation skills a plus
Compensation and Benefit Information:
? Salary Range $52K-$70K
