Job Title: Community Impact Specialist Supervisor: Director of Innovation and Opportunity Department: Programs Status: Full-time (40 hours/week) Location: Montgomery, NYQualifications Associate's degree in nonprofit management, social work, public health, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred). ServSafe Manager Certification is a plus. 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit program implementation. Demonstrated ability to engage diverse communities and build trust-based relationships. Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. Understanding social justice issues, especially related to food insecurity and poverty. Passion for making a tangible difference in underserved communities, with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-led solutions. Valid NYS driver's license and the ability to travel locally and regionally three to five days per month. Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical office setting but may be exposed to extreme temperatures in a warehouse setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending, listening, talking and/or visual concentration, writing and/or computer use. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. Lifting should not normally exceed 30 pounds.Position Summary: We are looking for a mission-driven and results-oriented Community Impact Specialist to join our Programs team in the Capital District. In this pivotal role, you will drive measurable change by developing and executing initiatives that strengthen community partnerships, mobilize resources, and enhance our efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and connector who thrives on collaboration and is deeply committed to community empowerment and equity.Duties & Responsibilities:Community Impact and Partnership DevelopmentBuild and sustain strong relationships with community-based organizations, schools, faith groups, businesses, and other local stakeholders to promote collaborative programmatic impact.Identify and pursue opportunities to extend the reach and effectiveness of hunger relief initiatives through strategic partnerships.Serve as a visible ambassador for the organization at public forums, community events, and key stakeholder meetings.Impact Communication and Public EducationDesign and implement outreach campaigns, educational sessions, and community forums to not just raise awareness of food insecurity and related issues, but to provide partners and neighbors with tangible tools to make programmatic impacts.In conjunction with department leadership, work with the marketing and communications team to craft compelling stories, resources, and media that highlight community impact and mobilize public support.
