Set in the historic Johnston Building, formerly the NoMad Hotel, our property boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1903. With design expertise from the Soho House Design team, we've lovingly preserved the building's original charm while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary style.
At The Ned NoMad, we offer an eclectic mix of exclusive and public spaces, including 167 elegantly appointed bedrooms and suites, a lively rooftop bar and terrace restaurant, a first-floor bar, restaurant, lounge, and nightly live entertainment.
The Role...
We are on the lookout for a dynamic Prep Cook to join our team and report directly to the Sous Chef team. In this role, you'll thrive in our fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and projects with flair, efficiency, and independence.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and break down assigned station, maintaining cleanliness and organization in accordance with The Ned and local health department standards.
- Execute food prep tasks with precision, following recipes and techniques as trained to ensure consistency across all offerings.
- Maintain appropriate portion control and presentation specifications, delivering dishes that reflect The Ned’s elevated brand.
- Monitor stock levels throughout the shift and restock items as needed to support seamless service.
- Operate kitchen equipment properly and safely; report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols, including cleaning and organizing kitchen areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces.
- Collaborate with culinary leadership and team members to support smooth kitchen operations and service.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager to meet business needs.
Desired Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 + years of experience in a fast-paced and professional environment.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume and food forward restaurant.
- Proven success of “champion of the culture,” facilitating excellent communication and engagement.
- Team focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute.
- Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and be persuasive.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast-paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 to 60 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
- Must be able to use step ladder.
