Sommelier
This position requires deep product knowledge, refined service standards, and the ability to drive wine sales with confidence and sophistication.
Wine Program Management
Maintain and execute a curated wine list aligned with Le Chêne’s culinary vision
Monitor inventory levels
Ensure proper storage, rotation, and organization of all wine inventory
Conduct regular cellar audits
Guest Experience
Provide thoughtful, personalized wine recommendations
Confidently guide guests through pairings for multi-course dining
Execute proper wine service, including decanting and tableside presentation
Handle guest inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism
Drive wine sales while maintaining an elegant, hospitality-first approach
Team Development
Educate front-of-house staff on wine knowledge and pairing principles
Lead regular wine trainings and pre-service briefings
Support servers in upselling and improving wine confidence
Service Standards
Maintain composure and precision in a high-level dining environment
Uphold refined service etiquette consistent with a French fine dining setting
- Assist on the floor as needed to support overall service flow
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Sommelier in an upscale or fine dining restaurant
Strong knowledge of French wines, with global wine literacy
Formal certification preferred (CMS, WSET, or equivalent)
Proven ability to increase wine sales and manage beverage cost
Strong communication skills and confident tableside presence
Professional demeanor and polished appearance
Ability to work evenings and weekends
