Mechanical-Electrical Technician

Our client, in the Industrial Manufacturing industry is seeking a  Machine Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess skills to build machines according to job orders, schematics, and prints.
By placing component parts and sub assembly units on machine frames that meet production schedules..

Job Title: Machine Technician

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY

Pay Range: $26/hr. - $28/hr.

What’s the Job?

• Support lean culture and initiatives by attending and participating in daily lean meetings and make continuous improvements throughout.
• Follow schematics, drawings, and written procedures to assemble equipment to specifications including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical assemblies.
• Startup of newly built equipment including high voltage connections, software installation, component setup and calibration.
• Follow quality control checklists to confirm machine operation.
• Use shop interface manuals for interface procedures.
• Work with other departments as needed to resolve any engineering or manufacturing related problems.

What’s Needed?

• 5 years of related experience and training OR 2 years of College or Technical School with 2 years of experience.
• Must have welding and stick welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to speak effectively with employees of organizations, engineering staff, and supervisors.
• Understanding of electrical fundamentals, PLC’s, hydraulics, pneumatics, ability to read/interpret schematics, and to comprehend circuits and components.
• Advanced skill level to perform technical trouble shooting and diagnostics of mechanical and electrical components and control mechanisms.
• Mechanical experience in assembly or repair.
• Above average computer skills with recent experience.
• Extensive trouble shooting experience, electrical, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Valid driver’s license: checked and verified.
