Household Manager / Nanny
Household Manager / Nanny – Dobbs Ferry, NY
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Household Manager/Nanny to support a busy family with two children ages 5 and 7. This role focuses on maintaining a well-run home environment, supporting school-aged children, and helping create structure, cleanliness, and consistency in daily routines.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: Approximately 12:30/1:00 PM – 6:30 PM
- Guaranteed: 30 hours per week
- Hourly Rate: 25-30 per hour
- Paid Time Off:
- All federal holidays off (paid)
- 1 week paid vacation (nanny’s choice)
- 2 weeks paid while family is away
- 2 sick days + 2 personal days
Key Responsibilities
Before School Pickup (Early Afternoon)- Creating and maintaining grocery lists (family will handle ordering)
- Monitoring household supplies and noting what’s needed
- Light household management to keep the home running smoothly
- School pickup (if applicable)
- Coordinate and supervise playdates (many friends live nearby)
- Provide a structured, positive, and engaging environment
- Encourage children to:
- Complete their chores
- Keep their areas tidy and organized
- Support independence and good routines
- Meal prep and dinner preparation (family dinner around 5:00 PM)
- Light kitchen cleanup after meals
Ideal Candidate
- Highly organized with a strong eye for detail
- Proactive and able to take initiative
- Comfortable balancing household management and childcare
- Skilled at encouraging independence and responsibility in children
- Friendly, dependable, and confident coordinating playdates
- Prior experience in a similar role preferred
