Cloud Architect (VMware To Openshift)

Hybrid 3x week onsite in Melville, NY

Description

This person will be supporting a Migration from VMware Environment to OpenShift

** There are 2 positions total and 1 of these resources must be bilingual in Japanese and English (native speaker preferred). Additionally, candidates must be onsite in Melville, NY 3 days per week.

1. VMware to OpenShift architecture, deployment/migration

2. Cloud / Container Platforms

3. Bilingual in Japanese and English (For one of the two roles)

Technical Skills

• VMware Expertise: In-depth knowledge of VMware infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, and related management tools.

• OpenShift Proficiency: Thorough understanding of OpenShift architecture, deployment, and management.

• Containerization: Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with OpenShift.

• Networking: Strong grasp of network protocols, configuration, and security within virtualized and containerized environments.

• Storage Solutions: Knowledge of storage technologies and their integration with both VMware and OpenShift.

• Security: Expertise in implementing security best practices in both VMware and OpenShift environments.

Migration Experience

• Migration Planning: Ability to develop detailed migration plans, including risk assessment, timelines, and resource allocation.

• Data Migration: Experience in migrating data from VMware to OpenShift with minimal downtime and data loss.

• Application Refactoring: Knowledge of refactoring applications to run efficiently in containerized environments.

• Automation: Proficiency in using automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for migration tasks.

• Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during migration.

Soft Skills

• Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and report progress.

• Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers throughout the migration process.

• Project Management: Strong project management skills to ensure the migration is completed on time and within budget.

• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to change

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
