Overview:

Location: Albany, NY - Onsite

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

We are seeking a Medicaid Business Analyst who will support our client’s functional team with the implementation of a Medicaid Eligibility platform. This role will be responsible for bridging the gap between business and technology, ensuring smooth communication and effective problem resolution within the Medicaid eligibility system and MMIS system communications. The ideal candidate for this role will have hands on experience with 834 EDI transactions and prior Medicaid Eligibility experience.



Duties :

• Serve as the liaison between business, policy, and technical teams, supporting issue triage and clear communication

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for the Medicaid Eligibility platform

• Translate Medicaid policy and business needs into functional and technical requirements for development teams

• Analyze system functionality to identify gaps, defects, and configuration or data issues

• Perform root-cause analysis on eligibility, enrollment, and system integration issues

• Support and troubleshoot Medicaid Eligibility system integrations, including MMIS communications

• Analyze and validate EDI transactions (including 834 enrollment files) for accuracy and compliance

• Ensure system functionality aligns with Medicaid policies and regulatory requirements

• Support testing, validation, and implementation of eligibility and enrollment changes

Mandatory Qualifications :

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst demonstrating skills in documentation writing, analysis, and requirements gathering.

• 5+ years of experience with Medicaid eligibility systems including EDI and MMIS.

• 2+ years of experience analyzing existing system functionality and identifying root causes of issues in code or configuration.

• Demonstrated understanding of Medicaid Policy and regulations.

• Experience collaborating with technical/development teams to translate business needs into technical requirements.

Desirable Qualifications :?

• Associates degree or higher in related field.
