Position Type: Contract (W-2 only). NO C2C or 1099 Permitted

OVERVIEW:
The Senior Technical Engineer provides advanced technical solutions, architectural designs, comprehensive documentation, and guidance. This role involves specifying technical approaches and offering direction for the deployment and support of new or existing systems and technologies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with Technology management, customers, and support teams to lead the design and execution of scalable, maintainable solutions tailored to meet the Client's evolving needs.
- Lead efforts in infrastructure architecture/design, R&D of new systems, establishing standards/policies, and conducting thorough requirement analysis.
- Participate in all phases of the system lifecycle including unit testing, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Regularly interact with business partners at various levels to ensure clear understanding of business needs and technical requirements.
- Provide accurate estimates for project scope and development efforts for complex technical solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships, including coordinating resources and overseeing contractual obligations.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff; review technical documents and proposals prepared by team members.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, particularly in Financial Services technology, infrastructure, and best practices.
- Promote adherence to industry standards, Clients internal methodologies, and IT governance.
- Maintain expert-level technical competency in the application environment and supporting infrastructure.
- Assist in budgeting processes, including both capital and operational expenses.
- Identify and escalate risks in accordance with Clients risk management protocols.
- Support a workplace culture that promotes diversity and reflects the Clients values.
- Adhere to Clients internal control standards, addressing audit and regulatory feedback as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Combined minimum of 12 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, architecture, or infrastructure management.
- Thorough knowledge of the full system development and infrastructure lifecycle, IT Service Management practices, and vendor best practices.
- Proven ability to translate complex requirements into scalable implementations.
- Expertise in creating alternative solutions to challenging problems and recommending optimal approaches.
- Strong skills in analytics, troubleshooting, and technical problem solving.
- Industry or vendor certifications in relevant technologies preferred.
- Proven experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting system requirements.
- Ability to lead and collaborate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Skilled in facilitation techniques for engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of systems and organizational processes within a medium-to-high complexity project context.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Strong process orientation and logical thinking.
- In-depth knowledge of server/client architecture and virtualization technologies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated experience with project estimation and budget planning.
- Flexible, adaptable, and capable of rapid learning in a dynamic setting.
