ENL Elementary School Teacher
Bronx Little School, PS 691, apart of NYCPS, is seeking a passionate and dedicated ENL teacher to support English language learners at the elementary level. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to develop and deliver engaging lessons that support students' English language development in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to English Language Learners (ELLs) in accordance with their proficiency levels.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support language development across the curriculum.
- Administer NYSESLAT and other language proficiency assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS teaching certification in ENL (English to Speakers of Other Languages).
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Strong knowledge of second language acquisition strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
