Duties Description This position will be responsible for implementing the Article 24 (Freshwater Wetlands) and Article 15 (Protected Waters) programs in the southern portion of Region 9. Specific Article 24 duties will include performing wetland delineations, reviewing wetland permit applications, and responding to alleged wetland violations. Specific Article 15 duties will include performing site inspections of protected waters (certain lakes, rivers, and streams), completing freshwater mussel habitat assessments and reviews of mussel surveys by consultants, reviewing protected waters permit applications, and responding to alleged violations.

Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
