About the Opportunity

A lower middle-market private capital firm (representative of firms within our network) may seek a Buyout Analyst to support senior investment professionals across control buyout transactions , including leveraged buyouts, platform acquisitions, and add-on investments.

This role is designed for candidates at the beginning of their private equity careers , offering hands-on exposure to live buyout deals, rigorous financial modeling, and close interaction with investment team members in a lean, execution-driven environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Buyout Analysis & Financial Modeling

• Build and maintain LBO models , operating models, and transaction analyses

• Analyze returns, leverage profiles, capital structures, and downside scenarios

• Perform valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and intrinsic valuation methods

• Support screening and underwriting of new buyout opportunities

Due Diligence & Market Research

• Assist with diligence across financial, commercial, operational, and legal workstreams

• Analyze historical financials, forecasts, KPIs, and unit economics

• Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to support investment theses

• Help synthesize diligence findings into clear, data-driven insights

Investment Committee & Deal Execution Support

• Prepare investment memoranda, financial exhibits, and IC presentation materials

• Summarize risks, return drivers, and value-creation opportunities

• Support transaction execution from initial evaluation through closing

• Assist in coordinating advisors and managing deal processes

Portfolio Company Monitoring

• Support ongoing portfolio company performance tracking

• Assist with KPI dashboards, reporting, and variance analysis

• Contribute to analysis for add-on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit planning

• Provide analytical support related to operational and strategic initiatives

Education & Technical Skills

Experience (Formal or Informal)

• Prior internships or entry-level experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, consulting, or corporate finance is beneficial

• Demonstrated interest in buyouts, private equity, and control investing
