Essential Functions and Primary Duties

• Complete all aspects of accounting, tax and audit engagements for clients
• Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, general tax regulation, general quality control auditing standards, technology implementation procedures, etc. relative to individual client assignments
• Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested
• Strive to attain charge hour goals
• Practice in early practice development activities such as: memberships in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements
• Execute administrative duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Preparation of tax returns for private equity and/or hedge fund partnerships
• Preparation of tax allocations in Excel
• Research tax issues
• Put forth a diligent effort to pass CPA Exam and advance technical knowledge
• Keep current on professional pronouncements
• Maintain annual CPE requirement
• Timely communication to all members of engagement team and appropriate client personnel
• Act as a representative of Marcum, and help identify and recruit candidates
• Basic technology skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
• BBA/BS/MST in Accounting and or Taxation

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Must have completed at least one "busy season
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $75,000-$85,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on education, experience and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
