Substitute Teacher Assistant
About Us:
The Village Childcare is a community-centered childcare program in Warwick, NY, dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children. We are looking for caring and reliable Substitute Teacher’s Aides to support our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms as needed throughout the week.
This position is perfect for someone who can’t commit to a full-time schedule but would like flexible hours and the opportunity to pick up shifts when staff are out.
Responsibilities
- Step into classrooms when teachers or aides are absent
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
- Help maintain a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment
- Supervise children during play, meals, and rest times
- Support children with learning activities and transitions
- Keep classrooms clean and organized
- Communicate effectively with staff as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with children preferred but not required
- Patient, caring, and dependable
- Able to adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups
- Team player with a positive attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent required
