Pay Range: $26.44 - $30.28 per hour

YOUR ROLE

Receive and process inbound freight shipments from points of origin by performing the following duties.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?

• Receives freight, documentation and waybilling; assesses charges; pays fees and collects fees for shipments..
• Opens a file on the dedicated software system for each shipment received
• Responds to inquires via multiple channels - emails, telephone calls, TEAMS chats
• Negotiates with domestic customers, as intermediary for foreign customers, to resolve problems and arrive at mutual agreements.
• Examine invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations
• Contacts airlines, ground handling agents, trucking companies, customs officials to affect release of incoming freight and resolve shipment issues of all kinds
• Itemizes changes, prepare freight bills, accept payments and issues refunds
• Notifies consignees of shipment status and delays. Provides prrof of delivery and updates as needed / required
• Converts foreign currency figures into United States monetary equivalents, or domestic currency into foreign equivalents.
• Calculates duties or tariffs to be paid on merchandise
• Calculates and converts weights, volumes, measures between metric and imperial by transport mode
• Corresponds with foreign companies

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?

• Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, Minimum six months to one years related experience.
• Customer focused.
• Ability to learn all aspects of the team’s work, and to provide cover and assistance on a regular basis.
• Good Analytical skills, strong PC skills
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of sea freight product /environment.
• Self-starter, disciplined with leadership and motivational abilities
• Strong work ethic, common sense, curiousity, and a desire to learn
• CargoWise experience a plus
• Additional languages a plus, fluency in English verbal and written is required
