Project Accountant

Client: Construction (Residential)

Role: Project Accountant

Payrate $38/hr - $43/hr

Location: Long Island City, NY
Fully Onsite 5 days a week

We are seeking a Temporary Project Accountant to support our accounting team for a 3–5 month engagement. This role will focus on construction accounting activities, including project billing, financial tracking, and system support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Sage 300 CRE , AIA billing , and time and materials billing . Payroll experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform project accounting functions for construction projects, including cost tracking and financial reporting

• Prepare and process AIA billing and time and materials invoices

• Maintain accurate project financial data in Sage 300 CRE

• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate billing and contract compliance

• Assist with payroll processing as needed

• Support month-end close and project reconciliation activities

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction accounting

• Strong working knowledge of Sage 300 CRE

• Hands-on experience with AIA billing and time and materials billing

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Payroll processing experience

• Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
