This is an onsite role at our Arkport plant with travel to our Batavia Plant.
Travel 20-30% - Candidate selected, will travel regularly in the first six months to the R&D facility in Wilmington MA
Job Summary
Partner with manufacturing and their support functions to enable consistent delivery, enhanced efficiency, reduced cost, improved sustainability, and maximized profitability. Proactively evaluate material handling, batching, and processes. Maintain documentation. Actively engage cross-functionally in the development, process design, scale up, and commercialization, of new and renovated products.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
- Design and implement projects focused on efficiency, sustainability, profit and continuous improvement
- Writes project proposals and generate reports.
- Presents design and research to internal customers.
- Technical resource for the manufacturing and support functions
- Troubleshoot chronic issues associated with product and process, i.e. Triage.
- Support process on large capital projects
- Partner with product development on feasibility and trialing of new ingredients and products
- Develops process to meet production, measures process capabilities with the plants.
- Proactively maintains material handling, batching, and process and new technology and equipment to improve the process/efficiency of the business.
- Document batch, process, and equipment changes in product life cycle management
- Validate process change through process capability measurement.
- Active member of the Management of Change representing process change
- Travel required as needed for business.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of food and dairy industry experience of which 2+ years dairy plant experience
- PhD/Masters/Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree or relevant scientific field of study
- Certifications such as six sigma is highly beneficial.
- Helpful if experienced in project management; equipment layout and design; leading teams/project teams.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering and/or data analysis of processes and ingredient functionality/ handling.
- Strong knowledge of consumer-packaged product processes and line equipment.
- Capability and capacity to manage several projects.
- Use and proactively share knowledge associated with design of experiments, statistical analysis, and statistical process control as part of data driven decision.
- Deals with concepts and complexity; can comfortably handles risk and uncertainty; can decide and act without having the total picture.
- Strong self-accountability to meet deadlines and drive results; is accountable for own work; meets timelines and expectations; works independently and is accountable to deadlines while flexible to changing business needs.
- Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.
The pay range for this position is
$115,800—$128,500 USD
