Job Title: Psychiatric Social Health Technician

Location: New York, NY 10016

Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Schedule: 5 days per week (37.5 hours/week)

Contract: 14 weeks – no extension

Pay Rate: Up to $35/hour | Weekly: $1,312.50

Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Social Health Technician to join a behavioral health team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of behavioral health experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role involves providing direct patient care, maintaining safety, and supporting individuals with mental health and behavioral conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and supervision to patients in a behavioral health setting

• Monitor and document patient behaviors, mood changes, and safety concerns

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed

• Support implementation of individualized treatment and care plans

• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment

• De-escalate crisis situations using approved intervention techniques

• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members

• Accurately document observations and interventions in patient records

• Ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health experience (required)

• Experience in psychiatric, mental health, or substance abuse settings preferred

• Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Education & Certifications:

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent – Required

• Relevant behavioral health or mental health training – Preferred
