Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Manager to lead a high-volume catering program on a vibrant corporate campus. This role oversees all aspects of catering operations, from daily coffee breaks and receptions to large-scale events serving up to 3,000 guests. The majority of events take place Monday through Friday , with only occasional weekend shifts, and the account is closed on all major holidays . As part of the team, you’ll also enjoy access to on-campus cafés, coffee bars, and micro kitchens. The Catering Manager will supervise a dedicated in-house team, collaborate with culinary leadership, and ensure seamless execution of events that reflect both operational excellence and exceptional hospitality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise catering events ranging in size from 10 to 3,000 guests.
- Oversee a team of 5 catering attendants and 2 captains, with additional support from temporary staff and managers for large-scale events.
- Lead event logistics, staffing, and execution, ensuring proper set-up, service, and breakdown.
- Collaborate with chefs on menu planning and event customization.
- Train, mentor, and develop catering associates and captains in service techniques, customer engagement, and event presentation.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, hosts, and partner service lines to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Monitor food and labor costs, ensuring events remain within budget while upholding quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with sanitation, safety, and corporate policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of catering or food service management experience.
- Proven ability to problem-solve and adapt in fast-paced, high-volume event environments.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with team members, clients, and partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of catering styles (buffet, reception, plated) and event service standards.
- ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
