Dental hygienist

Elizabeth Mathew DDS is seeking a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to deliver exceptional patient care while promoting oral health and preventative practices. This role involves patient screenings, professional teeth cleaning, dental education, and assisting dentists in treatment planning. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and skilled at building patient trust across all age groups.

Dental hygienist

Ensure patients remain comfortable throughout examinations

Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment

Conduct initial oral screenings and review patients’ dental histories

Identify oral conditions such as gingivitis, caries, and periodontitis

Perform dental cleanings, including plaque removal and fluoride treatments

Educate patients on effective oral hygiene and post-treatment care

Take dental X-rays and impressions as required

Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatment plans, including for oral diseases

Maintain accurate patient records and comply with HIPAA regulations

Monitor and manage dental supplies

part-time $30 - $53 per hour

Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Valid New York State Dental Hygienist license

Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role

In-depth knowledge of HIPAA and occupational safety regulations

Competence in operating and maintaining dental and medical equipment

Strong communication skills with a patient and friendly demeanor

Associate degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is a plus)

CPR Certification or willingness to obtain

Ability to manage physical demands of the role

Master’s degree in Dental Hygiene or related field

Experience with dental software and digital imaging

Prior experience in dental education and patient counseling
