Compensation: $130,000–$140,000 base salary equity About the Opportunity: Our client is an innovative technology company that develops AI-powered software solutions for the real estate industry. They are seeking an experienced Property Accountant with a strong background in multifamily real estate accounting to join a growing organization focused on modernizing accounting operations within the real estate industry. This role combines deep accounting expertise with cross-functional collaboration, offering the opportunity to work closely with finance, operations, and technology teams to enhance accounting processes and deliver best-in-class solutions. This is a highly visible, client-facing position for someone who enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, improving workflows, and serving as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on property accounting processes, with an emphasis on multifamily real estate.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting workflows and translate operational needs into scalable business solutions.
- Provide expertise on account reconciliations, financial reporting processes, internal controls, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate directly with client accounting and finance teams to understand business needs and recommend process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce risk across accounting functions.
- Act as a trusted liaison between accounting, operations, and technology teams to ensure effective communication and successful execution of initiatives.
- 8 years of experience in property accounting, client accounting, or real estate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, account reconciliations, month-end close, internal controls, and audit support.
- Experience within the multifamily real estate industry is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with experience interacting directly with clients or business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Passion for leveraging technology and process improvements to drive operational excellence.
- Base salary: $130,000–$140,000
