Department Overview

TD Securities (TDS) is one of the world's leading wholesale banks with operations spread across 15 offices globally. GTB is a key growth business within TDS that provides the opportunity to make an impact with Corporates, Financial Institutions, and Government clients by providing innovative solutions and treasury advisory services on large and complex liquidity, payment, and trade needs.

Over the last decade, payments and trade have experienced unprecedented levels of innovation, recent technologies & solutions, new entrants, new regulations, and new opportunities/challenges. The business constantly changes. As a result, all GTB's business lines, namely, Treasury Solutions and Global Trade Finance, constantly evolve to provide optimum trade, liquidity, and payment solutions to clients.

Job Description

TDS has embarked on a multi-year digital transformation and expansion of GTB’s product suite to position the transaction bank as a leading North American multi-currency treasury provider, enabling significant business growth across the TDS franchise. Accordingly, the need for a strong and efficient delivery of a large-scale project to deliver on this objective is required.

Client Advisory is the product function within the overall product management setup that proactively manages high-value client driven book of work both in US and Canada. This is a cross line of business function that caters to large corporate, commercial and mid-market clients across different lines of businesses within TD. Reporting to the Director, Client Advisory, GTB, the successful candidate will be leading client specific projects starting from understanding revenue growth/ protection business case, clearly defining the problem statement, leading product discovery, product designing/ re-designing, build, testing, commercialization, etc. which not only directly helps the client asking for this change but also other clients who might be looking for similar solutions.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with relationship management/ originations teams on key client product requirements
  • Be the trusted go-to product resource for all transaction banking needs for the front-end relationship/ origination teams
  • Organize well- documented, easy to understand business requirements broken down from high to low level requirements understandable by technology partners
  • Define problem statement (what is the client problem that this product or feature will solve and what are benefits to the client)
  • Create end to end process maps to define / clearly articulate the problem statement working closely with business and technology architects
  • Project manage end to end Client specific delivery working with all stakeholder groups internally and externally
  • Document & define the change in detail to ensure day 2 support teams are fully updated and aware of the impact
  • Develop & maintain up-to-date internal support materials such as technical product documentation, updated RFP responses, decks for sales teams and sales support materials
  • Work with Originations/Sales/RM teams to define longer term go-to-market and sales strategy: identify potential segments/clients, how will this be sold, how does it benefit clients
  • Effectively build internal relationships with other key stakeholder groups such as technology, project governance, compliance, legal, Operations, marketing and other teams within TD enterprise
  • Manage internal and external client expectations in terms of product development and delivery roadmap working closely with origination team
  • Gather market requirements and industry trends to support the business requirements Stay up to date on new market offerings, competitor offering, industry changes

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant work experience preferably with large US banks within Cash Management / Treasury product management space
  • Client focused; Good to have corporate/ Commercial client facing experience in transaction banking sales or financial services industry
  • In-depth knowledge of US cash management/ treasury product landscape across liquidity, payments, receivables and delivery channels
  • Relevant recent experience working in large scale agile design/delivery pod within financial services industry or willingness to learn/ adapt;
  • Hands-on experience with drafting product capability road maps, business process flows, user stories etc.
  • Comfortable or ability to quickly learn working with technical tools such as JIRA and Confluence;
  • Highly detailed with a sense of responsibility
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for audiences at all levels
  • Proactive, results-oriented with positive track record of getting things across the finish line
  • Positive attitude with an insatiable desire to learn
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguous or unclear situations Work effectively with diverse teams
